We have received a lovely testimonial from Victor, who took an intensive Czech course with us. Czech is generally one of the toughest languages to learn but Victor made an amazing progress in a very short period of time. Here is what he sent me, when I asked his feedback:

“I had been contemplating enrollment in language courses for quite some time. It was your enthusiastic and rapid responses to my inquiries regarding your services that help make my decision an easy one.

Truth be known, i am amazed by yours and Michaela’s multi-language knowledge and passion for enabling that in your students. I imagine that each of your language tutors share the same values and pursuit of excellence.

I can see that Michaela is a perfect example of your commitment to providing language instruction to those eager to learn. And i know without your drive and determination, many people would be missing the opportunities that the benefits of your courses have created for them.

I thank you for creating a way to share your creativity and incredible ability through the courses you offer. Without the London Language Studio, i would most likely have been ‘in and out’ of another typical language course. Instead, i am now learning a language in a way that is effective and at a pace tailored to my needs. And for that, i have your drive and success in creating the business to thank.

 Thank you, Alena.

And yes, of course you can use any of my feedback in anyway you need. I am being completely honest in my responses, just as you have been completely honest in your committment to providing excellent education. Thank you again for the education you provide. I cannot remember when i have encountered a business so dedicated and professional in the delivery of service.

Feedback.

As we discussed on the phone.  I have *NEVER EVER* come even close to assimilating another language into my psyche.  In high school, I tried French, German, and even Spanish (My Grandparents were Mexican), before I finally tried Latin (thinking because it was a written language, I’d have an easier time).  After failing to learn Latin, I gave up on a second language.

Outside of another language, everything I have ever learned has come to me quite easily.  My career is proof of this.  I have been blessed with an ability to absorb and retain knowledge related to my profession (IT / Technical).  Problem solving has never been an issue, nor has the retention of complex technology.  I simply do not understand why it is so difficult for me to absorb another language.  (I’ve strived to maintain a positive attitude so I don’t create a self-imposed mental-block).

Years ago, I worked at a Japanese company that took me over many parts of the world.  I’ve had to report to a Japanese person who spoke Mexican Spanish, and a Mexican who spoke very little Japanese, but neither could speak English, which put me in a very interesting position.  After listening to different languages, I realized that I can understand the tone, syllabic rhythm, and even accent of the different dialects given enough time.  And I had even come to find I can memorize greetings and respond to certain ‘keywords’, but felt like this was ‘Cheating’, and when it comes to knowing a language, I want to /understand/, not just listen and respond.

The decision to learn Czech is heartfelt and earnest, and even though it highly motivates me, this is still the very toughest thing I have had to learn in my entire life.  The reason I wanted private lessons was so that the classes would be at my pace, and I wouldn’t slow any other students down.

My work schedule doesn’t permit me very much free time, so I have intentionally booked as many classes as I can, because (sadly) some days my only ‘study’ time may occur in the classes themselves.  (Which I know doesn’t help my retention).

Michaela is by far the most patient, understanding, and capable language teacher I have ever encountered.  She remains very professional, provides me positive feedback and reinforcement, and always finds a way to help me and my learning difficulties.  As we follow each lesson, she finds ways to present them to me that work very well.  I can say with absolute certainty, I would not have been able to learn as much as I have without her enthusiasm and guidance.

I must admit; I am not as good a student as she is as great a teacher.  My confidence in what I say when I speak Czech isn’t there yet, (Which Michaela always tells me I should be more confident because I have been saying things right) but I assure you I am doing my best.  She prevents me from getting frustrated with myself for not learning as fast as I would like, and always finds a positive and unique way for us to continue.  Which is ironic, since I thought I was the most patient, inventive and nurturing person I know! 😀

I thank you for keeping your promise, Alena.  You have chosen the absolute perfect teacher for me, and I thank you both for your patience in my learning.  I know that I am getting better with every day and every lesson, and my confidence in my new language will grow.

Thank you for providing such an excellent language service!  This is changing my life, and I am very grateful that you have found a way to achieve what others cannot do!  I am learning a new language, and enjoying it!

Mej se hesky!

Thanks,

Vic…”
