Learning Modern Greek of course takes a lot of time and dedication but you don’t need to take your efforts all the way to proficiency; Greeks will really appreciate the fact you are learning their language rather than judging how well you speak it. I have put together a short overview of the alphabet and main pronunciation rules; please note- it is not a good idea to try to avoid learning the script! It is actually less difficult then it initially seems and it really helps to be able to read what you are learning!
